Your team is resistant to data security measures. How can you convince them of its importance in AI projects?
Overcoming resistance to data security in AI projects means educating the team on what's at stake. Feeding sensitive data into AI systems or using unverified outputs risks confidentiality, integrity, and vulnerability to attacks. Strong governance is a must - we need acceptable use policies defining what data goes in and how outputs get validated. Coupled with strong controls around our AI systems and training data, we can protect our assets while harnessing AI's power. It's a balancing act, but critical to get right. I believe communicating the risks and putting the right measures in place, can bring your team along.

You're struggling to integrate AI models into your business processes. How can you overcome the challenges?
Before integrating AI models, it’s crucial to establish a solid foundation to ensure team buy-in. Start by creating an AI Vision Statement to define long-term goals, supported by Strategic AI Principles that align AI with your business strategy. Establish Responsible AI Principles to guide ethical use, and develop an AI Strategy outlining your approach and Business Value Drivers. Use an AI Maturity Model to evaluate your current position and set clear milestones. A strong foundation like this makes integration smoother and inspires collaboration.

You're short on resources for project planning. How do you decide which tasks to prioritize?
When resources are tight, I like to rely on the "Cost of Delay" strategy to help me decide which tasks to tackle first. It helps me figure out what the financial or strategic consequences might be if we put off certain tasks. By understanding these possible impacts, I can make sure we're focusing our limited resources on the most important things, avoiding the biggest setbacks. This allows me to focus my team on getting the right things done, and making the biggest difference, even when the pressure is on. This approach has helped me navigate tough situations and still deliver great results.

Here's how you can assert yourself effectively in team meetings as a project manager.
How to Speak Up and Lead Better in Team Meetings As a project manager, I've learned some tricks to make team meetings work better. Here's what I do: Make a clear plan for the meeting and share it early Use simple words everyone can understand Stand tall and make eye contact to show confidence Listen carefully to what others say Help solve problems calmly when people disagree Encourage everyone to share their ideas These simple steps have made our meetings much better. People talk more, come up with great ideas, and work together better. Being a good leader isn't about being the boss of everything. It's about helping everyone work together to reach our goals. What do you do to make meetings better? Tell me in the comments!
